Iodine – seaweed – Iodine

Hi Everyone,
Following on from yesterday's blog I want to share with you what I do as additional support, and I shall share what I have shared in class with my colour students over the years.
At home I always keep a bottle of Dr Lugols iodine as a first aid solution to dab lightly onto the children's cuts or grazes, by dipping a cotton bud into the bottle and gently dabbing once onto the affected area. Being careful as it stains, and only dabbing once as one dab is quite sufficient.
For myself, I dab once onto the soles of each foot once a week to keep the iodine level consistent in my body. When I have not done that I have felt the difference.
Please note : I am not diagnosing, I am only sharing with you what I carry out and do to myself and have done with my children as they grew up, as we are not allowed to diagnose, I am not diagnosing, I am sharing with you what I do.
I urge you with caution to carry out your own research please, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or on meds. If you are interested in topping up on iodine for yourself do your own thorough research and talk to a qualified health practitioner.
However it is a fact that the soil today is iodine deficient and most people are iodine deficient with thyroid problems increasing annually. When I was lax myself I paid the price, now I am consistent, using one dab a week on the soles of my feet and I feel far better for it.
Some professionals recommend taking 1 drop in a small amount of water, I prefer not to take mine orally, I far prefer the dab onto the skin routine, as that suits me then I know my skin will absorb what my bodyneeds and I can see it disappear.
It was actually Bernard Courtois a French chemist who first discovered iodine in 1811. By a sheer fluke he added too much sulphuric acid to a 'recipe' hence iodine was born. He investigated its properties before it was recognised in 1812 later named as iodine. A clever man, he started businesses up and failed more than once and sadly he died in poverty.
How times have changed. Today he could have trademarked his discovery and become very successful and very rich and lived a life of luxury, as iodine is sold worldwide, used in hospital surgery departments, used during and after surgery and post op, for wound and ulcer healing, in every vets during operating and post op , as it kills most known bacteria, viruses and bugs, keeping the area sterile and as a magnificent aid to healing.
Dr.Lugol, the French physician, coming in after Bernard Courtois, in 1829 , developed his own iodine mixture that we use and know today.
Dr Lugols iodine is an inexpensive widely used solution that I couldn't be without in the home.
A simple action taken weekly protects my body from.many things by keeping the levels of iodine in my body topped up and consistent. I believe it is good for my health and wellbeing as I believe every part of my body benefits, plus giving my body extra protection against environmental issues.
Some prefer adding seaweed and kelp to their diet and supplementing their diet with iodine rich foods, however and whatever suits, iodine I believe is necessary in todays world for me and I make sure I have a store of at least 2 -3 bottles, I check the dates and store accordingly - just incase there is ever a shortage ............................
Please be aware that everything in my blog is purely for entertainment purposes.
These are my thoughts and opinions. I must advise you to do your own research.
