Numerous requests are coming in daily for me to share my colour knowledge with you, as you have enjoyed reading my books, found them to be inspirational but leaving you hungry for more - I hear you - so lets go!
Lets start with red and blue.
The red and blue polarity.
As you all know, my former students, my former trainers and followers, my starting point is always Mother Earth, The Oceans and the Skies.
In sunrises and sunsets colours are at their most spectacular.
(another reason I do not accept the dimming of the sun experiments - apart from the health complications - sorry I had to say that at this point - I digress - I will carry on focusing on colour)
As dawn breaks the darkness gradually becomes light, and we can see the reddish hues come in then fade as full light overcomes. During the day the oceans are blue, the skies naturally and in the main are blue, depending on where we are on this planet and where we are looking.
Here we have a daily example and demonstration of the inter play between red and blue. One follows the other in a complete and glorious circle and cycle.
Red is as Ive always stated the Olympic winner, it wakes us up, gets us going, alerts us and rejuvenates us, red awakens all our senses, physically, emotionally, mindfully, spiritually and sexually. It is the all round bestest for revitalisation on every level of our being.
Whereas blue is quite the opposite, yes it is the most popular colour worldwide, but not for its go getter, I am here qualities, rather for the calmness it brings to the whole body, a feeling of calm and well-being flows though our bodies with dear blue.
We are aware when we look at colour perspective that red immediately appears to come forwards towards us, hence when a woman wears that red dress or red lipstick she won't be ignored! whereas blue to our perception recedes, hence why a room painted in red will appear smaller and more intimate, no need to expand on what activity best suits an all red room.....whereas a blue painted room will appear to be more expansive and larger, but this is dependant on the hue, as one must be so careful with colour choices as certain blue tones will appear cold and not be appealing at all, in fact can be off putting.
They are opposites but as they say opposites do attract and never more true than in the case of red and blue.
My courses and workshops are well known for interaction, play and experiential exercises , for the many exercises I have developed over the years to show students and attendees how the exercises support my work and show them in detail a clear and what will be an unforgettingf experience, showing how colour works, that they take away with them, that they will never forget and has a profound impact on them.
There is one exercise that shows the interesting play between red and blue and how we can when sitting quietly just focus on these two colours in our quiet times to bring the upper and lower back to balance once more, and to help with our eyesight, our nervous system and our over all wellbeing.
As red by itself does affect the eyes through the bringing of more oxygen to the eyes, (plus other parts of the body too but lets stay here for now) I want to share this as many do not realise the full benefits to the eyes using red and blue will bring.
Just by sitting quietly, closing the eyes and breathing in red for 5 minutes then immediately after breathing in blue for 5 minutes will support healthy eyesight.
Another exercise is the following, sitting outside in sunshine light is best or a well naturally lit spot indoors, using your right hand, place the palm of your hand infant of your eyes, then gradually move it away, I ask students to first carry out this exercise with eyes closed - to relay what colours they see. Wait at least 5 minutes, do it again with eyes open and relay the difference.
Most with eyes closed will see a variety of the reds oranges and yellows with violet creeping in at the end. With eyes open the colours are mainly reddish and blues. A simple and wonderful exercise to carry out proving the importance of red and blue. Their uses are many, Im concentrating here on the health benefits.
Lest we forget the natural glorious bounty of colours at our fingertips to be used, first we must learn how to fully use them, I don't believe we have even tapped the surface of what colours alone and together can do for us all, to help us in so many ways, and especially going forwards with so many changes afoot, we need colour more than at any time in our history, yet its all there waiting to be discovered, I despair that I don't have another hundred years at least to research and to discover what colours can do and how to use them for our very best advantage.
But it's at those times I am reminded, to come back to keeping it simple! I have always taught simplicity. Come back to the source of colour , to Mother Earth, The Skies, The Oceans, please continue your searches there, and when out and about stay alert and open minded, observe the colours Mother Nature uses, observe the sunrises and the sunsets, stand outside in the morning as the sun rises and welcome her in each day, a simple sun exercise I taught in class is all in my blogs and my books, all there for you to know and to use for your benefit.
I truly believe that once we have taken onboard the importance of colour and how to use it, there will be no stopping mankind.
Colour language is not unique to a few, it is there waiting for you to discover, as colour surrounds us at every moment. It is the very basis of life.
Colours speak to us, colours heal us, colours balance us, colours form us, colours are us!
Please be aware that everything in my blog is for entertainment purposes.
These are my thoughts and opinions. I must advise you to do your own research.
